Parents as Partners

It is very important that our Nursery School and 2-3's works in positive partnership with parents and carers, as the most significant people in their child’s life. They are your child’s first and most enduring educators. We therefore need your help to build on the foundations you have laid at home in order to help your child to achieve success in their education and reach their full potential as modern, productive and caring citizens in our local and wider community.

We operate an open door policy, which means that parents are welcome at any time if they have concerns about any aspect of their child’s time with us. We have a key person system which means that each family is allocated a named member of staff who will get to know them well and build a strong relationship with them and their child. We welcome parents into the classroom briefly at the beginning and end of sessions and encourage them to meet with their key person to share progress and problems regarding their child. This helps us to work together to give each child the best possible start at School or Foundation Nursery.

We regularly consult our parents in the form of a Parents Satisfaction Survey. You can click here to download our latest results.

Keeping in Touch

There is a texting service which helps us to remind you of any important dates and events such as parent meetings, closure days etc.

Parents and Carers are also invited to regular informal gatherings, which may have a focus such as ‘What children do at Nursery’ or ‘How to manage young children’s behaviour successfully.’  We also hold two way meetings with parents each term to talk about progress or concerns and the next steps for each child’s learning.

Curriculum Play Days are held each half term and these offer parents and carers the opportunity to find out about the how, what and why of each area of learning and development. They will be able to share learning experiences with their child and take away some ideas on how to develop learning at home.

There is a suggestion box on the main corridor near reception.  Please tells us what you think, good or bad, as we take your feedback very seriously. Thank you.

Newsletters

A newsletter is published each term that will give you dates and times of up and coming events as well as sharing general news about the Centre as a whole. The parent and carers' notice boards are just outside the nursery entrance door and will provide you with further information.
