What's On for Families

Family Support

Family Support are part of the Early Help and Family Engagement Service and work with children and their families when they are in need of support. The service recognises the crucial role that parents and carers play in their children's lives and we are here to provide support when problems first start so that they don't get worse.

We are able to offer advice and guidance, and can support families that are experiencing difficulties in a wide variety of situations. These can include:

. Parenting and challenging behaviour

. Domestic abuse

. Mental Health and well-being

. Finances and housing

For more information please contact the Centre and ask to speak to a member of the Family Support Team.

Below are some quotes from parents/carers who have accessed the Family Support service:

"It feels great that I can sleep knowing that my child is safe."

Mum reported that she "feels more able to interact with the children now, as this was an area she previously struggled with."

"She has assisted with things which I struggle with such as dealing with letters and phone calls and has been present when I have attended social environments which can be a bit daunting for me."

"Since having these meetings my confidence has really grown. Now I have time to read and do homework and spend quality time with family."

"The process is helpful. Meetings help me to relax and share my worries."
