Safeguarding

It is Everyone's responsibility to safeguard children.

In nursery we pay close attention to the welfare and safety of our children. In the event of any concerns, we are obligated by law to follow the safeguarding procedures and inform the appropriate authorities. Any concerns would be made to the local Social Services Department.

In the majority of cases we would always discuss any concerns with parents prior to contacting partner agencies. We are required to keep a log of any exisiting injuries which include explanations from adults and children.

Our setting has a rigorous and robust recruitment process that gathers evidence about staff suitability to work with children. All references are checked, and all staff, students, governors and volunteers must undergo an enhanced police check. All staff and volunteers also undertake regular Safeguarding training.

Any allegations made against staff will be dealt with through Rotherham Safeguarding Children Partnership.

We have a team of designated Safeguarding Officers at our school. The desginated Safeguarding lead is Lynsey Hadfield who is also Head of School. Safeguarding Officers are Lizzy Battersby and Emma Nortcliffe.
