Something from home - Celebration Board
We encourage parents/carers to share photographs or the special events in their children's lives. This might be their first time playing football or sleeping in their own bed for the first time. Whatever the celebration we want to share it in our nursery and on our celebration boards.
Library
We provide a library for children in both our 2-3 class and our F1 class. These are self service and children can borrow a book for a night, or three or four if they are really enjoying it.
Our library has a range of carefully selected books that range from information books to stories about children's favourite TV characters and books that reflect the celebrations and different events in their lives such as Christmas or Eid.
Every child receives a book bag so that they begin on the journey to understanding how precious and magical books are.

Bedtime Stories
We encourage good bedtime routines as essential for helping children to get the sleep they need to learn the following day.
We promote this through our Bedtime Challenge. Each term children are challenged to clean their teeth and share a story with a grown up each night before their go to bed.
Children who join in receive a special prize. Well done to the children that completed our Autumn Challenge.

Rhyme of the week
Every child receives a Rhyme of the Week book when they join nursery. This already has some traditional nursery rhymes inside it for parents/carers to share with their child.
Every week in F1 and every two in 2-3s children receive a new rhyme to add into their book. The children will have been learning the rhyme and talking about what the words in it mean and you can too. The children usually learn some Makaton signs to go along with the rhyme so that all our children can join in.
Very often the rhyme is linked to the story, celebration or seasonal learning the children have been engaged with over the previous week.
Please click on the videos below if you are unsure of the tune to any of the rhymes.
